Die klaren und transparenten vergangenen Nächte im Juli waren geeignet, ein für die Lage in Hauzenberg und mit DSLR schwieriges Objekt anzugehen.

Der Elefantenrüsselnebel, auch bekannt unter der Katalogbezeichnung IC 1396 A, ist eine Ansammlung von Gas und Staub mit einem hellen Rand im Sternbild Kepheus. Sie gehört zu IC 1396, einer H-II Region mit eingebettetem Sternhaufen und ist etwa 2400 - 3000Lj entfernt.

Der Nebel ist ein aktives Sternentstehungsgebiet und enthält eine Reihe junger Sterne und Protosterne, die laut Wikipedia erst zwischen 100.000 und einer Million Jahre alt sind.

 

Eine der längsten Belichtungsserien, die ich bis dahin unternommen habe und ein Verstoß gegen ein früheres Prinzip, dass eine Nacht für ein Objekt genügen muss.

Skywatcher Esprit 150 der SWGU auf meiner AZ-EQ 6, Riccardi 3" 0,75-fach Reducer, Canon EOS 60da, ISO 800.

110 x 210 s Belichtungszeit (=6,42 h) auf drei Nächte verteilt, sowie Darks und Offsets.

Keine Filter, nur Belichtungszeit...

Der 65% Ausschnitt ist vom Kontrast her etwas anders bearbeitet, als das volle Bildfeld.
