Die Supernova SN 2017 eaw in NGC 6946 wurde am 14.Mai vom amerikanischen Hobby-Astronomen Patrick Wiggins entdeckt. Wenige Stunden später wurde die Entdeckung durch ein Foto von Gianluca Masi bestätigt.

Nachdem wir sie bei einem Beobachtungsabend mit Schülern und interessierten Referendaren der Realschule Hauzenberg am 17.05. an der Sternwarte durchs C14 visuell nicht eindeutig identifizieren konnten, hängt dem Artikel ein fotografischer Versuch aus der besagten Nacht bei sehr dunklem Himmel aus dem Garten an. Die Grillfeste waren um 23.30 Uhr alle beendet, so dass ich zumindest 8 Aufnahmen machen konnte. Alle Bilder bei ISO400 am Esprit 150:

4 mal 900s mit EOS60d astro + 4 Darks + 10Bias
4 mal 900s mit EOS60d unmodifiziert + 5 Darks + 10Bias.

Die Sterne sind etwas groß, weil der Esprit nicht ideal temperiert und das "Seeing" etwas unruhig war. Aber es ist schon spannend, ein Ereignis zu dokumentieren, das vor 20 Mio. Jahren stattgefunden hat. Wir sehen es erst nach so langer Zeit, weil das Licht von dieser Galaxie 20 Mio. Jahre braucht, um uns zu erreichen.
